HAPPY 54TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY NIGERIA!

HAPPY 54TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY NIGERIA!
Nigerians, where do we see boundary?
The cross and crescent moon are no opposites
Simply a byproduct of an imaginary boundary
The birds above see streams of flowing love; endless rivers
Rivers without limits, roads without tolls
Cities without fears, and people without tribes
What do we see as humans?
Flowing streams as point of demarcation
Artificial roads as points of exit
Cities as territories, and tribes; a sort of limitation
Faith and reason are no opposites
Simply a byproduct of an imaginary boundary
What separates Nigeria from Southern Cameroun is
Neither the Calabar River, nor the inhabitants
But simply an inherited historical imagination
Boundaries are imaginary lines that breed conflict, yet
Nigerians will not live without boundaries
If only Nigeria will eliminate its limited boundaries
And redefine its teleological aspirations
Redefine its seemingly historical mutually inconsistent irreconcilable metaphysical difference
Then it will see; that
There is a teleological end – designed by providence
We must all cherish and protect
Each time the birds hover above through our clouds
They pounder at man’s artificial social incompatibility – man’s political stupidity
“Human beings are crazy, where do they see boundaries?”
Indeed, Nigerians are crazy people, where do they see boundaries?
The birds ponder as they pass above
What separates me from you; is
Neither history nor tribe, neither religion nor economy, nor politics
…but simply too many imaginary differences
Or simply put, too many boundaries – imposed, ascribed and accepted
Boundaries do not exist in reality; humans do
If history ever created, imposed and projected on us, such imaginations; we have a moral duty
a duty to decide, to accept, to reject, to redefine, to believe
or forever remain in such servitude to nothing other than an inherited dystopia
See how limited humanity has become; all in the name of boundaries
Let me ask once again; my friend and fellow compatriot
As we celebrate our country’s 54th Independence anniversary
Where do we see boundaries?
